I am grateful for the activity in this forum! It seems as though as soon as someone has a question the answer is immediately provided for that person... if only the rest of life was that easy. Anyway, to the gecko stuff. I am looking into getting a crested gecko and I have an 18.5 gallon custom tank made out of a Rubbermade container, inverted so it is vertical. I closely mirrored the great pictures provided in the photo gallery on this site to make the cage for the gecko. The environment I know is fine- it's just the size. Is 18.5 gallons enough for a crested? It definitely passes the requirement of "12x12x18" posted on other sites (in fact I believe that to be too small for a crested). Also, having three fire-bellied toads and a house gecko, I have quite a multifarious list of things for the crested to eat. I have mealworms, waxworms, and red worms. I have a calcium supplement and apricot baby food. Are red worms okay to feed to a crested? I haven't heard of anybody even attempting to feed a crested a red worm, but maybe it's better because it is soft and easier to digest? Either way, I just want what's best for my gecko. One last question- how much is everybody feeding their geckos? How much is too much? And as far as the calcium powder goes, how often should I dust my worms with it? I hear something different at every site I go to. Thank you for your time and suggestions!
