GECKO WITH A BLISTER ON TOE

Lynda321 Feb 07, 2003 04:41 PM

Hi.

My Leopard Gecko has been trying to shed his toe skin forever now and I noticed a week ago on one of his toes he has a red large blister. What can I do for that?

Thanks

Okay first of all you have 2 consider why your gecko is having trouble shedding his skin in he first place - have you provided a moist humid hide for him/her to retreat to during shedding? If not the you have 2 add this to the tank immediately - if u all ready have 1 u should give your little gecko a luke warm bath and try and remove the skin around his toes(gently) with a cotton bud (q - tip)- skin that constricts around delicate areas such as the toes and eyes for example can lead to infection - toes may eventually drop off with poor circulation - could you send a pic of the blister? It may be that the toe is just swollen from the constriction and you just have to loosen the shed but if it looks infected then u will have to take you gex 2 a vet for treatment - Hope this is of some use 2 you Evonne x
