An Early Surprise...

wetceal May 29, 2005 01:18 AM

We found an early surprise today! This girl gave birth to some awesome babies for us this evening. This was a breeding between our female Hogg Island Boa and one of our male Hypo Boas. We tried to breed the Hogg female to our Hogg male but he did not want anything to do with her. We've tried the pair for several years in a row now with no success.

So this year, we tried putting our male Hypo in with her after it seemed like the male Hogg Island wasn't doing anything. She gave birth on day 98 POS which is a little early but you wouldn't have been able to tell with the size of these babies! Some of them have a little belly but other than that, they are PERFECT! She had 14 big beautiful babies and 3 slugs, no stillborn or deformities! There were 4.3 Hypo Hoggs and 4.3 normals.

Here are some pictures of the litter...

Hypo Hogg Females...

Some of the normal babies...

An AWESOME looking girl...probably keeping her

A few other nice looking babies...

Thanks for looking!

to see those beauties in the goo. I love Hypo/Hogs, they're soo orange. My male is by far the nicest looking Boa that I've ever owned.
Congrats, you're having quite a nice year.
