jonjpl2 May 29, 2005 09:09 AM

Hi,

Can anyone tell me anything about the "North Costa Rica Locale Boas" I've come across one that is for sell. A 4 year old female. But I don't really know much about them. Anything you can tell me will be a great help with making up my mind about getting her. I would love to her about any that you may have. If possible I would love to see pictures.

Thanks so much,
James

Well I have gone on herping trips to the North Central area of Costa Rica for two years and counting looking for these beautiful snakes in their native eviroment. So far I have only be able to find DOR subjects. My friend Jim Kaveney Just came back from the area that I travel with him two and had found 8 lives Boas in a 6 day period there!.
The care and husbandry is the same as just about any mainland BCI, the Locality it self tends to be on the smaller side with an almost Hounduran look (very orangey).
Below is a picture of one that Jim found this trip that he sent me (Ithink to just rub it in and convince me to go along again this Nov! LOL). As you can see by the way he is handeling the snake that it was none to happy about being caught, photographed and released!
