I love those Kisatchies. Im curious where your bloodline originated. I am starting to see quite a variance in colors from various regions. Cool...

The ones I have came from Don Soderberg @ South Mountain Reptiles. I inquired about their local due to the fact that I also have an Anerythristic.

These are from two different lacals and here is the explination:

Don has some normal (wild type) that are from wild caught animals from the area of RED DIRT. Now, I'm not sure if this is a road or the name of a county. One of the F1 offspring from RED DIRT was bred to a wild caught animal from LONG LEAF and produced some Anerythristic offspring.

I'm not sure if these locals are in Louisiana or Texas, but my guess would be Texas.

We are hoping to prove that this Anerythistic trait found in the Kisatchies is NOT related to the type 'A' or 'B' Anery. traits we now know. Breeding trials still have to be done to prove this or not.

You would have to check with Don on that one. I only have the three I got from him and they are 04' hatched, so it will be another year or so before I'm breeding the ones I have.

Red Dirt is a wildlife management area up at Kisatchie NF in LA near the town of Gorum. Longleaf refers to the Longleaf trail, a senic road through the area with access to various campgrounds and to the Longleaf Vista, an area of mesas (this is one area of LA with rocks and has tarantulas, scorpions, large centipedes and also the corns, Western pigmys, prairie kings, corals, glass lizards, buttermilk racers, etc.) The vista is right off of the Longleaf trail. The whole area has corns and their range has now been extended to Calcasieu parish, where Kj Lodrigue found dors a couple of years ago. Most are not as reddish as the one Walter has pictured, but rather darker. Many have really nasty dispositions like some emorys.

I was pretty sure I remembered Don Soderberg telling me his stock was from near the Kisatchie forest. I bought one of his hatchlings a couple years ago. Unfortunatly she was one of the few who didnt make it.

Thanks for the detailed info on the local Jim. I feel better now knowing more about the locations these came from rather than just the names RED DIRT & LONG LEAF.
