Grey day hypo pics.....

sojourner May 29, 2005 03:34 PM

It is overcast here, but not so dark the flash is needed. I really like how some of these pics turned out. These kids were produced in our recent RG hypo X Ivory anery litter.

First up is a male.....

And here is a girl......(she reminds me a lot of dad)....

What do you think?

Jesse

Well, seeing we seem to be working on similar projects, I thought I would share some info with you. In 2003 I produced a litter of Ghost Boas, that there Mother was an Ivory (Ronne Line Pastel Anery) Boa and the father was a Double Het Hypo that had had the Pastel Dream Line bred into it by Doug over at Boa Basement, So the little buggers were super pretty with lots of pinks and the Ghost boas were just beautiful.
Well this season I hope to breed back thhe keeper male Ghost that I kept back to the female to make Ivory Ghost Boas. I am assuming that these Boas will outstanding little looking Ghosts.
Let me know how your group is doing and what you are producing with it, I just love the line and think it is the best looking Anery's out there and they make the best looking Ghost to boot!

I remember when you had that litter, and I remember really wishing I had the money to buy a pair from you at the time. At least I have been fortunate enough to make some very nice ones myself. I am still waiting patiently for a ghost of my very own...

Like yours, the Ivory mother, produced by Erich Gaertner of Strictly Boas, was from Ronne's Ivory bloodline. Her mother is an anery sister to the original Ivory matriarch, but was not an Ivory. She was Bred by a very nice wild caught,long-term captive anery male.

The father is a Red Group Hypo from East Bay Vivarium. His mother is the best RG breeder female East Bay has, and his father was a nice hypo male produced by Rick Staub. For afirst gen hypo he is killer.

As far as my intentions for the babies, my one plan form my keepers will be to cross them into some some unusually colored hypos and normals possible het anery I produced last year. Here is a couple of pics of two very different looking hypos....

A female....

A male.....

A pic of both their tails together....

What are your thoughts on them?

The female looks to be a Ghost? Is there any red, brown or pink in her at all? If not a Ghost then the least red pigmented non-Anery Hypo I have ever seen!. She should make a really interesting project.
I gave the female of the Ghost litter last year off, but should have possible Ghosts from two different breedings this year. One is with my Leticia Anery Male x Female Double Het Ghost, he is so faded, I am still half thinking him to be a natrual Ghost Boa from that region and one that is possible Dominant (Double Het Ghost x Double Het Ghost).
But it is next year that I am really hoping will bring some nice Snakes my way with what I hope will be my first Sunglow Litter and Ghosts that are possibly het for snow and SnowGlo! Each year it becomes more and more interesting!

She is actually super washed out pink. Her tail saddle color does not vary from her base much at all. I wish I had a ghost for some true contrast pics to show that she is definitely not anery. Lots of the boas from the litter were very anery appearing. At the moment I have no idea if it was a fluke or what.

A very interesting tidbit is she has a twin sister. I watched themboth crawlfromthe same birth sac. Their patterns vary a little bit, and one is a litle more speckly, but their color is identical. I will include some pics of them together. Thanks for your thoughts!

Best wishes for all your projects!
