Wow, a whole 4-5 weeks of reading, and you're already going to breed huh? Way to go.

I would suggest you spend slightly more than a few weeks doing the reading up, and actually get some more practical experience of the individual animals themselves rather than jumping in at the deep end trying to care for potentially hundreds of babies practically from the word go.

I went to the taylor reptile show in Michigan yesterday. I saw some kid and maybe his dad walking away from natures spirit reptiles with a bunch of dragons. Was that you?? If you got all your dragons from the same breeder, you may want to consider not breeding them. How many males and how many females did you get? Were you planning on housing all 6 in one cage???

peace,
nathan

Wasn't me, heh, I live nowhere near there, but I do agree with your point. If they're all approximately the same age, and all came from the same dealer, there's a high probability that at least some of them are related, so you won't want to be breeding them - even if you do feel you are ready to breed.

Hey, that was probably me and my dad. In all we walked away with 6 beardies. Ages ranging from 2 weeks to 2 months. No we didnt get them all from the same breeder. When i was buying i was well aware of the inbreeding. So no inbreeding is not a problem with my guys. No i dont house them all in the same cage. I house them in 62qt rubbermades. 2 beardies to a cage. with play sand for the older 1s and papertowel for the 2 week olds. I have 3 males and 3 females. 2 of the 2month olds are normal x sandfire mostly showing sandfire. The other 2 of the 2 month olds are orange tiger. And 1 of the 2 week olds is a hypo x sandfire showing awesome colors. And the other 2 week old is a sandfire x red yellow.
