GECKO's For sale at Fair

Samcin May 29, 2005 05:49 PM

I just got back from the Strawberry Festival. I am happy to report the iguana rescue (us) were the only iguanas there this year. The midway did not even have goldfish.

Unfortunately, the Autism Society was selling baby gecko's. SHe was telling people that they have no diseases including salmonella. Sigh!

What do you mean, the geckos had been tested and confirmed disease-free? In that case, all the glory to them.
Or were they telling people the geckos weren't carriers of salmonella?
Technically, they can say their geckos don't carry the AIDS virus and not lie, but I am just trying to understand how they were promoting the animals health...

If the geckos had not been tested and examined by a specialist, then that's creepy...

The woman was saying they didn't carry anything and if you microwaved everything that went in the cage, none dideases would get in. Someone asked about salmonella and she said they don't carry salmomella. I think this was wrong and the buyers were children.

Wow, that is wrong. I hate it when people will say anything just to get some business. These days too many people are doing things just for the money. I understand working a job to provide for you family but I don't think animals should be put in the middle of something they can't help. I mean most of these kids that end up buying them aren't going to care for them right and they are going to end up being the geckos that you see in very bad shape at petshops where they were dropped off. Very sad.
