Sure do you have 1700 dollars and an ESA permit?? Prehistoric Pets has some for sale. And JP SHADOWS has some that should reproduce in the future. Hope this helps.
Happy Herping!!!
Hi,
Yes, you would need a Endangered Species permit, and access to these animals. The previous person said Jody has some Desert monitors - his come from Egypt, not Iran. Some of the Desert monitors from Iran have keeled nuchal (neck) scales, like a Roughneck monitor has - it is cool to look at.
As Iran is considered an enemy of the USA, I seriously doubt you would find local-specific animals from Iran available here in the USA - the Desert monitors available in the USA are North African variety - still the same species, different locality.
They are an amazing species, and hardy in captivity when proper cycling, food is made available to them.
