Nutrition info on frisee?

el_toro May 29, 2005 07:20 PM

My local obscure greens store has recently been stocking frisee, but I can't find any nutritional information on it. Anyone know anything about it? Where does it fall on the "is it ok to feed to my uros" scale?

Since frisee is a type of endive from the chicory family, it is probably close to endive as far as the Ca:P goes. From my chart, endive is listed as 13mg calcium and 7mg phosphorus, with a ratio of 1.86. I have used the chart from a box turtle website. Frisee is not listed alone. Don't know if this helps you...

Thanks, Pam! It's more than I knew, and now I feel OK with feeding it once in a while for variety - so, yep! Very helpful!

If anyone else knows any additional info, I'd be glad to hear that, too!
