o btw he they would both only be in the cage for about 2 months

I would not put them in the same cage beacause it can lead up to feeding problems. Thanks Scott

even if they are separated when feeding??? and also they would only be in there for about 2 months together. if it is not ok i will just tell her she has to buy a new cage and stuff but this would be easiest for now if possible

And you should keep them in separated because if one gets RI the other one will. and a 10 gallon tank can only hold one ball python. Thanks Scott

I wouldn't, unless you like you balls to share diseases. BTW, if they are captive hatched or wild caught don't forget to have them checked out by a vet and dewormed.

Since your balls are babies.... do this. Go and get a $2 rubbermaid container and put one of them in that. Make sure it has a heat source, and you will be fine. Babies actually do better in one than a fish tank in my opinion. Come to think of it....so do adults.LOL

As far as going to Vet is concerned... I say this. Honestly most Vets don't have a clue about snakes. I'm amazed at what people tell me their Vet says. If you go to the Vet, make sure he/she is a herp Vet. A non herp Vet is going to find something wrong with your snake....It never fails.

If your animals are healthy and eat fine, then save your money for a cage. Even captive hatched babies usually do well without treatment.

Now people...I didn't say don't ever go to the Vet. I think sometimes it is overkill though. Most of the time I would much rather see people buy better caging and such for their animals with the money.

For you and me it is fine not going to the vet, since we know what to look for ...

For the first time owner that doesn't have a clue on how to treat for parasites, what mouth rot looks like, what a dehydrated ball looks like, etc... they should find a decent herp vet and get the snake checked out, unless they want to treat it as a disposable pet

You do not need to take every snake you buy to the Vet. You can if you want....and it can't hurt anything if the Vet knows what they are doing. I hate to come down on the docs out there, but most do not know much about herps. Please don't tell me they do, because years of experience tells me they do not.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. If you take your snake to an inexperienced Vet....your snake will have something that you can't pronounce for sure. The treatment for this will be long and costly.LOL. If you need a good Vet...and live in the Northeast....e-mail me directly, and I will name a few.

If the new owner can't tell that their new snake has mouth rot...then they are stupid, and should not have a snake....or any other pet.
