Hello I'm a newbie here, but not with our beloved chuckwallas.I've been into chucks for over 16 years. I currently have a pair that I've nurtured for more than 8 years. I've entertained the thought of trying my hand at one of the island species for many years. I have read that varius cannot be kept due to it's protected status. On the other hand, hispidus can be kept as long as it has been captive bred. While looking over the posts I've heard Tom Greb's name mentioned. I live in So. California, and was curious to know if there might be a reputable breeder near. I have had good luck with the local species, and I am aware that there are differences in caring for the island species. Any info would be greatly appreciated
