EBV red group male...genetics questions

erikj Jul 12, 2003 11:51 PM

Hey all,
I'd like to know a little about these guys. I am getting an '01 male soon, and don't know what exactly to breed him too. I could breed him to an albino, but would some of the babies inherit his nice red colors? Is it a co-dom trait like the hypos/salmons? Or is it a "line bred" trait? The selecting of animals with red in them and bred over time.
Thanks
Erik

It is it a "line bred" trait? The selecting of animals with red in them and bred over time.

One of the original parents were from Jeff Ronne's Pastel boas. Then EBV line bred them from their stock from there.

What to breed it to???? That's really up to you. Just depends on what you want to add color to. It also depends on how your animals looks. I have seen some really red EBV's and also seen some "normal/clean" looking babies and adults. That will also determine what the babies will look like.

Hope this helps. Here is a pic of my male.

Thanks!
Well I guess I'll set him up with a nice clean normal for now. Try to get some nice, clean, red colombians. Maybe later I'll pair him up with my albino? Or maybe a hypo... Or maybe..
Thanks for the reply!
Erik
