Hypo Prairie King??????

murse May 30, 2005 03:18 PM

I just aquired a "albino" Prairie King. It's coloration is clearly amelanistic, But..... after I got him home I noticed he has NORMAL EYES. No Trace of pink or red.
I've been trying to look online for other Hypo snakes and have not found any that look as albino as my calligaster. I've come across mentions of "Extreme hypo", "Ultra Hypo", and even "Hybino" but no pics of examples.

Anyone know if it possible for an albino have normal eyes????

I'm going to try & post a pic... if it doesn't work I can e-mail them to anyone interested

Easist thing to do is to upload your pics here on the KS.com photogallery and post them from there. Pretty easy.

Hard to say but that is very light for a hypo but with black eyes I don't know what else it could be. Are you sure the eyes aren't dark ruby like in a t positive albino? Put the snake in a dark room and let the pupils get big then shine a bright light on it's eyes and sometimes you can see ruby. Nice snake.

Thanks, yes I'm sure.... I've shines a light in his eye's, No ruby glow... I've shown him to many people now & that seems to be the consensus, that he must be some kind of super light Hypo!
