But incase you come here first heres most of what I said to you

It would help to know if you have an incubator or not, if you have an incubator, I take a plastic sandwich container/ people use deli cups also, fill it with about 3 inches of dampened, not soaking wringing wet ,(vermiculite or perlite) I use vermiculite.

Have a small hole maybe quarter sized, cut in the lid of deli container this allows for good fresh air circulation.

Make little indentations in the vermic with your thumb and lay egg in each place, so they do not roll. Try and place eggs the way you found them when lay ed or pink side up if ya see pink oval.

Temps can not go below low 70's or above 90 degrees, best place is a middle ground of 83 degrees.

Every so often moisten the substrate, but DO NOT get water ON the eggs it will mold them. best to use an eye dropper and drip water down the sides, where no eggs are.

Takes about 40 - 60 days for them to hatch, mine usually hatch about 53 days.

** If you do not have an incubator, than a plastic shoe box size container can be used, put you deli cup or small container in it, and AGAIN same thing, have a quarter sized hole cut in top of the larger container for air circulation , and put where you Can keep the temps I told you about.

Wish you all the best, its all I can think of now, on the run, but will be back later, if you have anything your not clear on or any other questions, be glad to try and help.

Good Luck,

Hi Eve
Just an update on our collard eggs.
Not so good. Most of the eggs are becoming or have become all wrinkled and shrivled up and some had furry mold looking stuff on them. So 2 I have thrown away and 5 are left. Now yesterday I checked on them and 4 of the 5 remaining are doing the same thing. So I removed them from the container and put them in a different container that is dryer. What is happening to the eggs? This is a real bummer for us. I hate to think I have done something wrong. But I think too much moisture has done it. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Only 1 egg looks good and it is the one in the pic with the pink oval that you can see the others are quickly withering away.
Thanks
Chris
