montanachucks May 30, 2005 10:12 PM

I have chuckwallas banded geckos a leopard gecko and many other but I am new to the leopard geckos and I just want to basically want to know if I could handle them or did they need to be left alone?
I paid $50 to a local petshop for a yellow pink and kind of a tannish orange leo and he is awesome. I traded in alot of animals I have caught until I had enough for him... I need some basic care instructions

Hola,

How old is ur leo because it sounds older and it should b use to handling but if not just leave ur hand in the tank until it gets used to it or try and feed it by hand. My leo loved that.
That should b all.

Read some caresheets (there are TONS on the internet). I've got one on my site. Leos are very docile and will allow quite a bit of handling although do keep it limited because it could stress them out. If your leo has never been held before take it out for about 15min a day to get it used to you. The older they get tge tamer they get. Your leo sounds like an Albino. Does it look anything like this?

Fellow chucker, eh? Right on!
You should try to get a hold of "The Leopard Gecko Manual" by Vosjoli. It's a little booklet that you can get from any petstore, or they can order one. It's got the best information out there. There is also a good caresheet right on this forum page "The Leopard Gecko, a Herpetocultural Star "
