Dragonflies Anyone?

colorfulcritters May 30, 2005 10:28 PM

I know turts eat them, but what do you all think about feeding these to turtles? Safe, healthy? What's their nutrition content?

I knew some yb's I had that really munched them down. I'm looking for more natural foods to feed my turts, since summer is here. Putting them outside more now too. I notice this latter aspect changes their behaviour a lot.

Ear worms, pill bugs, crickets, things like that. I am sure dragon flies are fine and source of protein but don't really know the nutrional breakdown. Of course minnows, shrimp and water plants too.

I can find tons of pill bugs, or are these called 'potato bugs' too? They're the kind that roll up into a ball, right, and look armor plated?

Those are the ones. Good calcium source.
