Interesting localty

T7phage May 30, 2005 10:54 PM

This past weekend I had a rare oppurtunity to see a locality collected alterna and annulata in the state of Coahuila Mexico. The alterna was a juvenile male DOR (2 weeks ago) from just North of Cuatro Cienegas and supposedly the first in a very long time. My camera was on auto and the person taking the photo didn't account for the focusing- so the picture is crap and we were unable to get another photo oppurtunity as my wife and I needed to be back Monday morning. The annulata looked similar to celaenops/annulata you see towards Sanderson- and was also small. BTW- these were collected legally by a herpetologist in the area on a ranch road- collecting otherwise a very bad idea south of the border. However- the habitat was absolutely amazing.

Anyway- other than Aquatic Box turtles and cool cichlids the alterna made the trip.

On my digital camera. I'll post it or email it- but I warn you- it's out of focus. Next trip I'll get a better photo.
