Hova-Bater

Cobra7 May 30, 2005 10:58 PM

My female layed 5 eggs. This is my first time dealing with eggs.I have them in a Hov-Bater filled with Vermiculite/Perlite with all the holes pluged up.Two of the eggs are starting to dent in alittle and I have the proper amount of water to medium ratio(1 to 5).What should I do? Sean

Was the vermiculite 5? You show it as 1. Are you using the fan model? If so, you need to disconnect the fan. Something else you can do is put some container over the eggs to form an inner chamber. This will aid against temp fluctuations and moisture loss.

Right on. Eggs should be in a covered container, then placed inside the Hova. A thermostat is a must (imo)
I use a fan forced Hova with the cover only. My incubator (styrofoam) is 3' x 2' x 2'. I have 2 of this size (found in the street ).
