Progress and an answer to a question

In my last thread (way down the page) I mentioned my snake Licorice had escaped before laying her second clutch... and was asked "did I ever find those eggs... nope... she was in one of my outbuildings, and when she escaped, she REALLY escaped... out into the world.. she wasn't in the outbuilding, as it doesn't take much to search a 12 foot by 8 foot structure... so she either laid the eggs in the walls (accessible) or outside .... b ut she returned to the building, because that is where I raise my mice, she was hungry for a snack!

While I was on vacation over the weekend she presented me with SIXTEEN beautiful eggs! Can you believe that! A HUGE clutch. I don't even have an incubation container large enough for that size clutch, have to go buy one! (they're all connected)

My albino cal king laid a clutch of 7 beautiful eggs while I was away.

My egg-bound and prolapsed-oviduct female retracted her oviduct and went on to lay all the rest of her eggs without incident or problem. I have 3 eggs from before she became egg bound and four from after (plus one slug I tossed)... we'll wait and see how those fare.

Be a while before I get any hatchlings, but it's sure exciting!

Here's a picture of Licorice last year when she was gravid, 14 days post pre-laying shed.
