Handling/Taming issues....

BryanR. Jul 13, 2003 01:01 AM

Okay, technically my dragon is TAME. Thats when you consider Tame means non aggressive to humans. I've had him for nearly 2 years now, hes an Adult now for sure (havent measured lately but hes beyond 24-26". Anyways whenever I try to take him out of his enclosure to put him in a bath to help his shed, he goes hay wire. He'll jump away, into glass, into anything, run around, until i go away. When I attempt to pick him up, I do it how you're suppose to and slide my hand under him. Eventually i get him on his back in my hand temporarily so he wont hop off and put a towel around him so he doesnt go crazy. Will he ever calm down?! He is WC by the way.

i have an adult female (she's 4) and she does the exact same thing.. her name is spook for a reason lol!!!! how are you going about it....opening the cage and then grabbing him.. or are you more slow in your approach..i find that makes a difference.. if you slowly go towards him and slide you hand underneath... sorry i am not much more help.. but i sympathize with you buddy... or maybe pet it for awhile and then try to pick him up.do you take him out beside for a bath... maybe if he knew he was going to do something fun like go outside or run around the house??? or does he like baths hehe.. i forget mine are some of the only wds that don't care for water.. ha !

and being wc probably has something to do with it as well...he might never change
