Hi...I just got a ball python from the store last week...he's captive bred, but the second day at home I noticed little black poppy seeds crawling on him....AGGHHHH SNAKE MITES!!!!!....just wanted to know if anyone had any "Best Way to" suggestions on getting rid of the little things...I've given him a betadine dip twice and bleached out his tank once....thanks for any help!

You snake out of the cage and spray the cage down with Provent-A-Mite (PAM) and surrounding area. Apply Reptile Relief (RR) to your snake follow directions on bottle. Throw out all substrate clean and disinfect cage and accessories thouroughly (get the corners and crevices real good, this is most likely where eggs will be laid). After you've applied PAM to the cage use newpaper or papertowels as substrate until infestation is gone. When dry it's safe to put snakes back in. Apply RR to snakes again in 2 weeks and PAM the cage at every cleaning for at least a month. RR will dehydrate snakes a bit, make sure they have a lot of clean water.

Hope this helps.
