Whats better than two clutches hatching on the same day....? A surprise! (pics and a story)

Well...I currently have two clutches hatching. Both are from my reduced pattern project. While it's still to early for anything definitive on the RP inheritance, I have had one pleasant surprise. These eggs are from my reduced male to a normal female. This girl has given me some wonderful babies in the past few years, but nothing too extraordinary. I am hoping that some little reduced babies will pop up as this clutch hatches, but the first out of the egg is special! It's not reduced at all, but it appears to be a classic jungle. Light head spots, moustache, and incredible coloration. This is one gorgeous little snake. Too bad we can produce these guys on purpose! Check out the pictures. I'll include a preliminary picture from my reduced male by reduced female clutch, which is also hatching today, in a second post below....

So far, none of these guys have done more than poke their heads out. Looking at the two babies on the bottom right and left, I do see the typical reduced head pattern. I can't wait until all four are out and about. Between this clutch and the other, I should know alot about my reduced patterns in a day or so.....

Cant wait to see what you get. We are working with our own line of Reduced Pattern animals. We are working this project with a friend who owns the original male. Half of all his babies come out reduced.....really nice looking animals. We are waiting on a clutch from the original male to one of his daughters. We also bred a Spider male to one of our Genetic Reduced females this year. Eggs are due at the end of June. We are very excited to see how it crosses into the Spiders. Looking forward to seeing pics of your babies!

newb here. What makes a ball "classic jungle", is it the bright coloration? I'm enjoying learning all the variations and genetics involved with balls, very interesting. . .

I hope to have my first bp in August(CBB from a friend's collection)

thx
Andrew

"Classic Jungle" seems to be a random mutation that pops up here and there, but hasn't proven to be inheritable in any typical way. Classic jungles have the following characteristics:
1) Light eyes (or light top half of the eye) 2) a moustache (dark scales above and below the lips) 3) a light spot or spots on the head 4) unusually vivid colors, with the light part of the pattern being a brighter yellow, often bordered in white, and the dark part of the pattern being jet black. This little guy has all of these characteristics.

The first baby from the reduced X reduced clutch has left the egg and it IS reduced. Not quite as nice as either parent, but reduced none the less. Hopefully one of the others will be even better. Also, the classic jungle has left the egg as well, and its pattern seems to be more reduced than most CJs. I'll post new pictures tonight. Take care!
