Kinshasa, DR Congo: A local employee of the UN Observer Mission in DR Congo (MONUC) was found dead inside the stomach of a five-metre python at Mbandaka, north of the country, the Congolese Press Agency, ACP, reported Friday.
According to the report, the snake was found immobilised after it had swallowed its victim, who had gone to swim in the Congo River.
The python was later killed and disembowelled before the body of the dead man was removed and buried.
The victim`s name was not given, but the dead snake was skinned and its meat, a delicacy in the area, shared out to locals.
