I know someone who has been raising a baby E. Box since last year. Should she let it go now that its a bit larger or should this one be kept as a pet? I am thinking that it wouldnt fair well in the wild since it has only known its small enclosure and being hand fed. But, I dont know how strong their instincts are. Does anyone have any insight to this situation? Thanks for any help.

because it was taken so young it wouldn't likely fair well because their first year or two in the wild are spent learning where to find food and when to find certain foods in their territory, if your friend no longer wants the turtle s/he could try getting ahold of turtle homes and they would help your friend adopt the boxie out.
also releasing it probly wouldn't be legal.

Thanks for the reply. She is actually a wildlife rehabber and loves this little guy so Im sure any excuse to keep it will be good news. She just wasnt sure how it would do if released. Thanks again.
