I went to the local petsmart and asked them about ordering and they said that no other petsmarts do that and whoever told me that they did was a liar.

Last time I was in my Petsmart (Santa Maria, CA, 93455) they had a little sign in their reptile section telling people interested in additional reptiles to ask a sales person to see their list of over 40 species they are capable of ordering.

If you asked the staff person stocking the cat litter, maybe he had no clue. Ask the manager instead.

And if that store does not provide what you need, drive to another one. Chances are you won't have to drive far.

Here's the deal. You need to ask to speak with the Pet Care Manager and then ask if they ever carry blizzard leopards. We don't technically special order, but if we know that there are people interested, we normally do our best to meet the needs. If the manager says yes, ask when they are getting some in or to be notified when they do come in.

I spoke to the girl in the reptile section and she was a complete idiot and had no idea that they even HAD leopard geckos for sale. They had two huge adult albinos and a few small normal juvis. The girl had the manager come over and she said that they don't order animals no matter what. There isn't another petsmart for many miles from here.

They don't know wha tthey are talking about beause they have to order animals. If they didn't they wouldn't have any animals.

Just curious..how old are you? altough I'm sure you know more about geckis than the people who were selling them, Petsmart has a VERY strict rule to not sell to anyone under 18. I know they've been rude to me in the past (before i looked 18...) because I couldnt buy anything with out parent permission.

How old am I?? I'm 23 and I worked for PETsMART in their Pet Care/Specialty department for 4 1/2 years now. Hence why I know all of that stuff. And yes, we are very strict about policies on selling animals to people under 18. Not that that warrants people being rude to you, which I apologize for . . . hope it wasn't my store . . .

Actually, that was for the person who posted the origional comment (geicogecko). I figured maybe if geicogecko was quite young they wouldnt take him/her seriously, because sometimes people get the idea that young people woant actually follow through, or be able to pay for, or take care of, or have permission to have, a reptile. hence having the policy in the first place, i think its a good idea!

i dont htink the shop where i got my leo from would have sold it to me if i was on my own. well he may of done cos he rememberd me from when i came in with my dad and got the setup. but i doubt hed sell an animal to sumone who looked less than 16 at least because they weemed responcible. tho my dad payed so i dont think he had to ask my dads permition. but i think that is a good idea not to sell to under 18 without perental concent becuase if sumone is too young they could be worse than the shop and from what i can tell most of the shops arnt that bad.

I guess I'll give up on them and just order from an online site if they are going to be stupid like that.

Anyways, can you just go to another store? I bet if you tell them you werent very impressed with Petsmart and decide to bring your buisness there, they will be happy to help you! dont just try "big name" pet stores, the little ones can have the craziest connecetions! you might find something even better.
