I'll ask. I have a baby blood, less than six months old. She came to me with a small bump on her neck area, for lack of a better description. It was completely under the skin at the time but now has sort of opened up. It's not bleeding, and is about the size of a pimple. It's under her scales and seems to be a little scabby under there. I have other snakes that have bumps, mostly wild caught snakes that I attributed to harsh handling before I got them. I put neosporin on it and am watching it carefully. I will take it to the vet if necessary but at this point I will try to treat it on my own. Just wondering if you guys have ever seen something like this, I know it's tough withot a picture but I honestly don't think a photograph would show it. I have a mangrove snake for instance that has a bump in about the same area, it's been there for some time, and this is about the same, but it's opened up. Sorry for the long post, just thought I'd ask since it's so slow, thanks in advance, Eric-

well, ive never had a snake with a bump on it so im not even going to fathom a guess. however, if you received it that way, id ask the person or business you bought it from just what it is, if it had been treated before, and how to continue the treatment or start. if it sounds like theyre feeding you a line of bs then go to a vet for an examination. and dont buy from that person/business again.

Hey,
There are some endoparasites (Microfilariae) that have been known and are known to migrate under the skin and cause bumps such as you described. It is a 50/50 chance that this is what it is, however, with a check from a vet you can rule that out.

In life you can fall many times, but you're only a failure, if you don't try to get back up!
