I was just trimmign my Blueys nails and even though they were way too long - after trimming one - I realised that it was bleeding - so a note to all with Blueys with long nails - BE CAREFUL! I feel like a right prick now

It might be a good idea to dab a little Betadine or something similar on the area to avoid secondary infection. I've found that the addition of rock, such as sandstone, or other abrasive cage furnishings really helps keep claw length in check.

yeah - The bleding stopped straight away and I dabbed some betadine on it - it didn't really phase the lizard - is just flinched. - I have rocks and stuff in there - but these are too damn long! so i'm gonna take it to the vet to get sexed with my other one and get the nails clipped there.

I wasn't going to say anything earlier, but I don't want you to get in trouble. On this forum, they want to keep it "family-oriented" and I've noticed you've used some curse words, like
p-r-i-c-k and d-a-m-n. Though these are not extremely bad words and don't offend me personally, you might still get in a little trouble. I just want you to use caution. I'd hate to see you get booted off this forum for simply typing what's on your mind, even if it's curse words.

Are you for real that they are swear words in the states? OMG hahaha - censorship is ripe in the US huh! Here in Aus - they aren't classed as swear words. - Thanks for the tip though rich!
