I'm new here: Question about hibernation -> T. hermanni boet.

cobaltblue Jul 13, 2003 03:37 AM

I read on a website that a hermanni tortoise "will do perfectly fine during the winter without being put into hibernation."

ref. -> http://personal.riverusers.com/~richardfife/page16.html

My question is..."Are hermannis reluctant to breed if they are deprived of hibernation??"

Moreover, does anyone here have hermannis that bred without hibernation?

thank you everyone for your input,

I have a pair in the yard in San Diego for about 4 years now that show no sign of slowing down in the winter and they are doing great.
