I looked over my fence where the mulberries are hitting the ground & yet again found a box turtle. Thinking it was Hobo again I ran for the camera & when I figure out how to use this new fangled connector for the camera I'll get the photos off it. lol

As I got closer I realized it wasn't Hobo, it was a female, not very colorful I thought it might be HOPE! But nooo, she's smaller than Hope, eyes are too dark, & the markings are no where near the same.
That's 2 box turtles, 1 Mexican ground squirrel, 2 rabbits, tons of birds & 1 whiptail lizard I've seen in the last month looking in that spot.
Soon the mulberries will be gone, I think I'll buy strawberries & other fruit to toss over the fence every night & see what comes up. Maybe one day it will be my missing Hope.

I find it amazing how you can tell every turtle you see apart from the others, good luck with the camera, and fingers cross Hope comes back! what was her favorite food?

Luckily I have really good photos of Hope so I can compare any turtles I find to her photos. I remember her face very well though because she was given to me by a vet who'd just done surgery on her ears. Her eyes were closed & her ears were abscessed when he took her in. I nursed her back to health, I had to hand feed her because her eyes were closed. When they opened, well I just can't forget what they looked like. She was so special to me.
I feel like though that on her own, she's ok because she had 15 months with me before she was lost through the crummy old fence we had at the time. I know she's near, I just wish I knew where. I'll never stop looking for her, I hope she comes home this summer. whaaaa
