1. A Tub with holes in it *CHECK*

2. A Down view of the tub...How do you assemble those Cloths hangers? How do you make it so it stays up and strong enough for the snake to not knock it down and make it removable? and what do I use when the snake gets older? I am assuming PVC pipes...how do you set those up?

3. The lid...is that hole needed on top for the heat lamp? Can I just use a Heat Pad on the bottom on the tub (not in it on the outside) or is a heat lamp betteR? what is the most easy to control and good for my snake?

4. Humity control. Where should the humity be at about?

5. Temp Control. Is a basking area needeD? what should the avg. temp be?

6. Bottle to spray

7. Heat lamp, again, is it needed or are there any other subsitutions? becuase i think a heat lamp would be tough to keep at the consistent temp? no?

8. Newspaper for the bottom

9. a Hook...I dont plan to play with my snake much but just in case

10. tongs....I dont know how to use these...Do i lift the lid off the tub and then wave it around his face? or do i close the lid as much as I can with the tong and rat on it in the tub so it doesnt strike ME instead of the Rat...what is a good way to aviod being striked at when you have your tub's lid open?????

A lot of questions I know...I just want to give this snake the best life it deserves...I'm sure I will have more questions THANKS SO MUCH GUYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

nice pics... lol...
>>
>>2. A Down view of the tub...How do you assemble those Cloths hangers? How do you make it so it stays up and strong enough for the snake to not knock it down and make it removable? and what do I use when the snake gets older? I am assuming PVC pipes...how do you set those up?
use a V shape perch holder on the ends... this will allow you to remove the perches...
yes use PVC or buy perchs somewhere

>>
>>3. The lid...is that hole needed on top for the heat lamp? Can I just use a Heat Pad on the bottom on the tub (not in it on the outside) or is a heat lamp betteR? what is the most easy to control and good for my snake?
heat panels are the best...
if you are going to use a heat lamp... yes the hole is needed...
be sure to put the light off to one side so the snake can regulate its temp better... i dont even think i would use a heat pad on the bottom...

>>
>>4. Humity control. Where should the humity be at about?
60%-70%

>>
>>5. Temp Control. Is a basking area needeD? what should the avg. temp be?
yes basking area is good for all reptiles... although these are nocternal snakes, so its up to you... i keep my temp at a constant 84 and their are a few cooler spots they can get too

>>
>>6. Bottle to spray

any spray bottol is good.. i use water out of the sink
>>
>>7. Heat lamp, again, is it needed or are there any other subsitutions? becuase i think a heat lamp would be tough to keep at the consistent temp? no?
heat lamps are not hard to control... but the best method woudl be to get heal panels and a thermostat that has a probe... try bigappleherp

>>
>>8. Newspaper for the bottom
i use newspaper... i never use color side up though... always black and white... it looks better
>>
>>9. a Hook...I dont plan to play with my snake much but just in case
i have 56 GTP's and i dont have a hook... but their are some MEAN snakes out their.... but not mine...

their are tons of ways this cen be done... i just open the door and wave it around with the tongs... and i have good results

Thought I was the only one anal enough to turn the newspaper so that only black and white show. LOL

I was told *loooong* time ago not to use the pages with color at all something about some of the red dyes used can be toxic?
I seperate each page and only use pages that have no color on either side. I end up throwing out about half of each newspaper.
wheeeeeee

I've been using the colored pages for years. As long as it's not slick paper and absorbs waste, it's fine. All of the ink used is a soy based ink and is non-toxic.

this is how I use tongs... I usually grasp the tail or
back leg of the critter (I feed frozen/thawed). I like to
hold the feeder's head up to (not against!) a light bulb for 15
seconds or so to warm it up and give the snake a good place
to strike since they sense the heat and also so they aren't
trying to lunge for the tongs. (if you do this, don't use the tongs to hold the feeder up to the light! the tongs will get hot too and defeat the purpose)
I use 12" tongs, just hold the feeder above and in front of the
snake and *!bammo!* it's gone.

That's my amazon tree boa getting ready to eat.

as far as heat lamps vs heat pads vs any kind of heating, it
is most important to just make sure whatever you are using
gets the tank to the right temp. Deff buy a thermostat to
control the temps! Best snake-husbandry purchase I have ever made!

I can't answer the other questions since I am still learning a lot myself about GTPs.
Good luck!
-April
