big guy riding little gal

I have two leapard torts - a 2 1/2 year old female (I think) and a 5 1/2 year old male. The male spends a fair amount of time trying to mount the female who is much smaller. Should I be concerned about this, should I seperate them, is this a seasonal thing?

Thanks, Ben

ps. My 2 1/2 year old tort has been gaining steady weight since I got her 2 years ago. My 5 1/2 year old has not gained any weight since I got him last november. He is active, eats well, runs to feedings every day, and chases the female around alot. Is the no weight gain a concern?

My leopards live together with out a problem even with thier age and size differences. Just make sure the little one is not getting stressed by and it that she continues to eat well. As for the Male does he look a nice weight in his shell? As long as he's a good weight for his age and size then I wouldn't worry bout him.
