scab help

sugarb Jun 01, 2005 06:18 PM

I just purchased a ball python from my local pet store. I did have a few scabs on him, but bought him anyway. Is there something that i can but on them to help it or should i leave them to heal itself? If so could I use cortizone-10, its the only thing I have right now. Also what would be the best to get to prevent mites before he would get them. I am newbie to owning a snake so any help would be appreciated. I do know that I shouldnt handle him for a week or so until he gets comfortable with his new inviroments....Thanks.

Just leave them for now. If they are still present after his next shed, you can revisit the issue.

If he does not have mites and you don't have any in your collection, don't worry about it. Read up as much as you can on BP care and enjoy.
