Starting a new project for me.......

Hoppy Jun 01, 2005 07:27 PM

I am expecting to receive 1.2 neonate colored Amazon tree Boas in the AM. 1 red, 1 orange and 1 yellow. I hope that this will work me towards a nice pair of emeralds that I would like to breed in the next few years.
I'll post pics when I get them.

is it recomended to start with A.T.B.'s before going to emerald's for someone with no experience with tree snake's? just wondering cause one day I would like to get a few "green" snakes

I have only worked with wc ATB before and they were the nastiest biters alive. The three colored tree boas that I have received are CB babies (and they are beautiful, I will post pictures soon) But I hope that they will give me some experience with tree Boas before I take on the tricky green ones LOL.
Thanks

In 2002 I got this pretty little CB ATB (born 12/25/01)

that pic is from 2003.
Anyways, it was recommended to me to start with an ATB and then move up into the other aboreals.
So, I didn't want to say anything until they got here.. but on tuesday I will be a proud new momma to a pair of CB GTPs!
I love my little ammie tho, she is pretty cool, I've never been bitten by her but she loves to lunge at other people. When I first got her I did have problems with the humidity and had to hand shed her a few times, this may have been what caused her to be so tame for me. Here she is being hand shed.. she looks so unhappy! lol

come on Hoppy, where are the pics? lol
take it easy,
April

I just loaned my adult group out to some friends. Beautiful animals. A little frisky though. Very easy to breed. Let me know if you need any more. I've still got a litter from last year hanging around. Everyone I know is scared to death of them it seems. As for the caninus, go with the Basins. Northerns can be a real butt cramp.

Thanks for the info on them. I am going to hold off on the Emeralds for a couple of years until I get some time with the ATB's. I received these little beauties this morning one reddish, one orangish and one bright yellow! so I will work with the a while before I go any farther with them. They seem a bit frisky but not any more then any other neonate boa. they are handleable.
Thanks for the advice I might just hit you up for some more later if you don't mind.
Thanks agan
