Here it is... a North Carolina Scarlet King from a 2 egg clutch laid on April 11. That's only 52 days... seems a little too soon... but they look good!

I saw the title of the thread, and I just guessed it would be a scarlet king.

Nice snake, looks to be a little aberrant?
Good luck with them, I have a little 10" male right now that refuses anything except skinks, I'm lucky he'll take f/t from my hand or I'd really be screwed.

Mike,

I have 4 adult Scarlet Kings - and two are freshly caught. All four eat pinks.

If you stick to it (meaning continue to scent pinks, etc.) you should be able to get that little male switched over.

Peter,

When he gets large enough, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to switch him to pinks, just because of how strong his feeding response is right now. I ran out of live skinks(the only thing he was eating at the time), about a month ago, and he wouldn't take f/t, so I just left him alone for two weeks. After 2 weeks, he went into shed, and then he shed. So he didn't eat for 3 weeks. So I thawed out the last frozen ground skink I had, and poked him with it, and he snatched it from me and ate it.

Then, 2 weeks later, I thawed out the last small skink I had, a little five lined skink. Poked him with that, and he snatched that one too.

The only problem I have with keeping him is that I have no supply of skinks, and no matter how many people contact me about selling me some, none ever come through with any large amounts.
