For Lele and Her Silkworm Article

Niobex Jun 02, 2005 08:28 PM

Hi, Lele!

I just read your article on silkworms in the Chameleon E-Zine. It was SO interesting and informative that I had to hold myself back from ordering eggs on the spot! Congratulations on an extremely well written and fascinating treatise.

Hi Marilyn - thanks! My passion for - and rearing experience with - my wild silks and other Lepidoptera, made the silkies easy to breed, but intially VERY difficult to feed to Luna! It was her health issues in 2004 that made me finally break down and get some. To this day I still turn my head as soon as I know she got it (usually hand feed these) as I can't bear to look!!

Btw, someone on the bearded dragon forum used the plastic grid that goes on fluorescent lighting in place of the plastic egg cartons Obviously, not everyone buys free range, organically fed eggs (that's where i get them) lol! So he improvised and came up wih a great idea!!

Thanks again

lele
