Hey everyone!
I used to work at PetsMart, and while cleaning out the reptile enclosures one day, I found an egg! I took it home and put it in my empty 20gallon to incubate (at temps of around 75*). I wasn't really expecting it to hatch, but on Monday morning, to my surprise, I found a tiny little hatchling running around.
So, does anyone have any other suggestions for keeping the baby alive? He (or, perhaps she?) has access to flightless fruit flies (I put at least a couple in every morning, and the tank has been fly-escape-proofed) but I haven't seen him eat yet, just chase them.
My main worry is UVB etc... I don't have a UVB bulb, and being completely broke (lost my job, moved), can't buy one. I was thinking about taking the little one out into the sunshine for an hour or two, but all I have are critterkeepers, I can't move the 20g very well. Would the critter keeper let UVB in? and would I stress the baby out too much moving him/her every day? I put a pinch of the calcium/D3 powder that I use for my leo in there on a branch he can get too, but will that even work?
So yeah, what do you guys think?
