2weeks to go. atleast 1 died. pics

My first clutch is not going so good.(pastel to normal) The eggs looked healthy till this morning. I came home from work and candled them. Two of them looked like the veins are going away. Didn't see any movement in them. So I decide to pick one up and candle it. No movement. At this point I poked at it a couple of times. Notta. So I cut it open and shure enough it's dead. Thats the way it goes I guess. Here is 2 pics. Can anyone see anything wrong with it.(what made it die) I'm going to just leave nature take it's course with the other three. Well I'm going to get sleep. I will check back later to see if anyone had ideas.

Thanks,
Casey

Like you said, these things happen. It's just Mother Nature. Only the strong survive. I did however learn that I'm not gonna leave any future eggs on their side when I transfer the clutch to the incubator. I feel that my egg being on its side the whole time might have contributed to it starting to mold and eventually caused it to die. Good luck with the rest of them.

Hi there Ryan,

I'm curious, what do you mean "not going to leave an egg on its side?"

Thanks, Christy

I mean that the egg that died on me was layed sideways and I left it that way. It hung out from the rest of the clutch and was just well, sideways. I can't be sure that's what caused it to begin molding but it just seems that since it was the only one to have any problems and it was obviously in a much different position from the rest, that from now on if I end up with any like that, I will take the time and care to remove it from the clutch and lay it flat in the substrate. Can't hurt anyway. Here's a pic to show how it was.

You going to be selling any of those cuties or are you holding them all back?

I'm planning on selling all of them actually. But of course, I'd like to get them feeding first. Which it seems is going to be a task.
