What kind of boa should I get next?

silenthill Jun 03, 2005 05:51 PM

Well I'm ordering another boaphile soon for my suri and thought, why not just buy two so I can get another boa. I already have a male Columbian, and a female Suri. This 3rd boa is going to be it for me. I'm not going to get another after it. I'll wait till I'm out of college to get more.

So if you were in my position with the two boas I have and could only get ONE more, what boa would you get? What do you think is a must have locality or morph? I don't want to go over $700, but anything under is perfectly fine. I was thinking of a really nice silverback Bolivian, or hell maybe even another Suri. What do you guys think?

would go nice, if your looking for something different than what you have. Of course the silverback and a another suri would also be nice. There are so many nice boas out there. Thats what makes this hobby so much fun. You can have a dozen or more with no two looking alike. Good luck.

I would get a Bolivian. I LOVE silverbacks. I got a pair last
year and they are unbelievably gorgeous. They get prettier every
shed. They're just as calm and tractable as hogs too.

BUT, if you have two right now, why not get something you want
to breed to one of them?

I thought about breeding my suri and columbian down the line but don't like the idea of cross breeding. I'm one of those people that likes things "pure".

Where did you get your Bolivians? Preferably I want a yearling so it doesn't feel nervous in a boaphile.

I love my Bolivians... Steve and I do mainly morphs but i have to say that watching my Bolivians grow up has been a great experiance. Really tame, quiet boas and great color variety. I would highly recommend a Bolivian Amarili for the mix... Beautiful animals and great personalities.

Sincerely,

IMO, figure out for certain your college dorm situation. It might be kinda hard to hide three boaphiles with large boas inside?

I'm auctually switching things up a bit. I've decided to go to a local college for 2 years to get all of the basic classes out of the way, then its off to a major university. The college is 5 miles away so I can easily still live at home and keep my job. Plus our house is way to big for just my brother and dad by themselves (a 5 bedroom, 4 full bathrooms house for only 2 people?), I need more boas to fill up the space!
