Do BDs chew their food?

MejaNica Jun 03, 2005 05:55 PM

This is a stupid question.. but I noticed our new BD (12" head to tail tip) seems to just chug-a-lug his food. Is there like a max safe size I can give him of like greens, ect??? He just gulped down a whole dandelion flower in like 2 bites!

yes, they do chew...evidenced by the sound of crunching crickets...sounds like you have a little piggy on your hands... I have countless times told both of mine to breathe...

well bugs you feed to him shouldn't be bigger than the width between his eyes so you could probably go by that as a gauge...if you're worried cut or tear the veggie into smaller sizes, although I've heard some can be picky about the size...
