That depends on the conditions she is in. How much you feed her, if she eats regular or refuses sometimes etc. It also can change from snake to snake.

How big is yours?

thanks for your quick response, she's about 27 inchs in length, but i've just weighed her and she's only 280g?! she does eat regularly on "large" mice only refusing when her eyes are cloudy prior to shedding and she doe'snt look thin (no folds of skin etc)and the shop keeper told me she was a little small for her age, does she sound ok to you?

once again many thanks, kenny

I think she weighs to little for her size. But you don't have to go and powerfeed her. If she eats enough, grows and looks round (her body) it's okay. But if she looks a bit thin you can feed her some more until she looks good again.

When I got my male BP he was underfed, he was 28 inch and 288 grams at an age of 1 year old. Now (9 months later) he is over 3 ft. and weighs almost 700 grams.
My little female (almost 4 months old) is 24 inch and weighs 255 grams.

Hi Kenny,

Here's what I observed over roughly a year of record keeping with one of my females. I only got the scale in August of 2002 so I was weighing meals right away. In fact I only started weighing her meals in November.

Here are some numbers for a female I’m hopping to be able to work with this year.
D.O.B. Spring 02

From July 26, 02 to July 6, 03 she's had 8 sheds.

From August 8, 02 to July 06, 03 she's gained 915g. Currently she weighs about 1100g.

From July 23, 02 to July 9, 03 she's had 45 meals.

From November 23, 02 to July 9, 03 she has eaten 1452g of rat meat.

From July 02 to July 03 she has defecated 13 times.

She's never refused a meal.

I’ve observed that she has been demonstrating cool seeking behaviour for about a month now, which is a sign of follicular development. That’s an encouraging sign, I just hope she hits a healthy 1500g by the end of November.
Thanks,
Trevor

Well mine put on 915g in one year, yours is a year old and is 280g? I think yeah there's a bit of a problem somewhere. I never feed mine mice for one beacause and adult BP will need a lot of mice to make a decent meal. You may want to get it checked by a vet. If it is shedding once a month then it's growing why isn't it putting on weight, doesn't make any sense to me.
