thought I would post a few pictures of the black rat snake I found in May.
It is doing pretty good. It gets nervous when handled but it doesn't try to bite.

Very nice Jimmy. Is the second picture a true indication of what he looks like, or is he more of a solid black? I know sometimes the flash on a camera will make them look lighter then they really are. I take it by now, your keeping this fellow Anyway, love to see pics of locality black rats, and the variations they show in different parts of the county. Thanks,

Steve

He has a nice visable pattern. Very rarely do I see any around here that are solid black. They usually have a noticeable pattern and some white and red flecking around the saddles.
I will try to get some clearer pics tomorrow when I feed him.

That's what I love about them. Here in Virginia, they tend to run very black with little to no pattern. Here is a couple of pics of one I posted a few weeks ago that I found at York River State Park in Va.

IF he hadn't been located in a state park I would have been tempted to keep him.

He is the one I caught while fishing. He seems like he will turn out to be a pretty good pet.
Yeah that bass pictured on the corn forum is a plump little guy.
Like I said..when didn't catch any big ones but we did catch a bunch of nice ones.
