to big of a prey item?

mike17l Jun 03, 2005 11:49 PM

at about 2045 just before complete dark tonight i came across a glossy snake coiled around a texas horned lizard. the glossy snake was about 2' long and no bigger around than the average persons thumb. the horned lizard was an average size adult. they were in teh road and the glossy snake left after i showed up, but i do not think there was any way for it to get a lizard of that size down, especially a horned lizard. wish i had a camera. anyway i thought it was cool.

That is interesting, doesn't seem like it would be able to take it. Snakes do sometimes kill prey that they cannot swallow.
