Do you really think a Mexmex or a thayeri needs a hook?......
I don't think so.....I have kept them for nearly 10 years and have never had one bite me......The most docile snake around has got to be a mexicana king.....

Ofcourse the mex-mex and the thayeri don't bite! using a hook just makes them easier to take out of their enclosures, NOW some of my shutzhund trained getz(like my mbk) are a different story. best wishes for your thayeri projects this year.

..I have never had one bite me either...but... last year someone brought me a FL king that was too bitey for them and asked what snake I had that was the "tamest". I immediately offered my breeder female mex mex to hold, saying "you can never go wrong with this snake (species)" Well, it immediately bit the *&%! out of a finger! Funny thing is, I NEVER had a problem with their floridana biting ME. Some people must bring out the worst in snakes!
