Does anybody know where to find...

McDowelliCheynei Jun 04, 2005 04:00 AM

...Diamond Python caresheets and information???!

My juvenile will arive in a fortnight and I can't find any decent online information... everything is too general, doesn't go into temp requirements, UVB requirements (if any), expected sizes, etc.

That said, I understand the lack of info considering the mass confusion regarding the classification of the morelii.

I even found one site saying they grow to 4m!

So, can anybody help me??

Cheers.

I know of no caresheets but Diamonds seem to like having a more dramatic gradient. They do not like constant temps across their cage. Keep them a little cooler than most carpets on one end and a little warmer on the other end. Also, don't feed them too often...perhaps one every 10 days for juvie and once every 2-3 weeks for older specimens. And yes, they can get quite large although very rare. There is a pic somewhere on the net originating from Australia showing a Diamond captured that is at least 10 feet long and by my guesstimation around 40 lbs.
Hope I helped.
