i've got a baby! and color questions....

danya Jun 04, 2005 11:02 AM

woke up this morning and found a baby had hatched, he's strong and active, very alert, very moody!

my male is a hypo high gold with a small bit of carrot tail i believe (BRIGHT orange around the base of his tail, but not a lot)

my female is normal, but the friend i got her from said that she throws a lot of lavenders when bred with 100% normal males.

what should i be calling these babies? i don't plan on raising them (just for a few weeks to make sure they're all healthy)
i also don't want to mislabel them and lead people to think that their baby will be a morph, when it might not be

hypo hi-gold X het for lavender?????

Well it's quite hard to tell what they when they are first born unless they are like a blizzard or something like that. Wait until tehy are 15g to sell them and by then usually you can give an accurate label to them. When you do sell them make sure you tell the person about the parents. Breeding those parents you can get a wide variety of babies so it's impossible to tell you what you have without a pic..and they will certainly change as they get older.

You should post pics of the parents.... You will most likely end up with a bunch of normalish looking babies.....
