a sore on my frog

lenny Jun 04, 2005 03:08 PM

I recently bought a helmetted water toad. He developed a sore on his back. I am going to try to treat him with maracyn. Is this a good idea?

I found the solution. bathing the frog in water, 1/2 gallon with a quarter of a maracyde pill (usually used for tropical fish). The sore is getting shallower and not red the way it was.

Good thing to hear. If the sore still persists after a week or so and does not show any further signs of improvements, please consider bringing him to the vets.

I spoke too soon. My frog died last night. The sore was healing. I'm not sure why he died. Maybe an overdose of marycin.
