Super Dwarf HET Albino Retics have hatched!

ProReptiles Jun 04, 2005 03:38 PM

Our Super Dwarf HET Albinos have all hatched out as of today. As you can see from the scale photo, they are incredibly tiny! Not even the ones produced by Chris Marshall last year, were quite this small. To give you an idea of just how small our Super Dwarfs are, a regular Reticulated python hatchling weights in from approx. 110 - 150 grams, and our largest baby weighted in at 30 grams…and the smallest came in at an incredible 18 grams!

As far as we know, this is the only clutch of Super Dwarf HET Albino Retics in the world!

Thanks for looking.

Congrats on the clutch, its incredible how tiny those are, as well as with other super dwarves that I have seen.

Thanks Amelia!...these Retics are incredibly small and remind me of a corn snake in their slender body structure!

Looks like we are generating a lot of interest and positive feedback on this amazing line of Retics!

I think that the dwarf blood being put into retics is a very good thing, possibly in later years, it could result in more keepers being able to enjoy them, when once they couldn't even think of owning one due to sheer size, and being size is most often the case of people getting rid of large constrictors, the dwarf blood being bred into existing morphs and such, could really help the size issue from what I have seen with it done already with the existing morphs out there.

Very good point, and exactly why I wanted and bought my super Dwarf x Jampea Dwarf retic, he's 2 1/2 now and just five feet long, very sociable too. As much as I love the Retics, my snakes are my pets, and keeping an oversized Retic in an apartment, a snake too big to just take out and handle, was not for me.

I'd love to find him a girl Super Dwarf one of these days.

CONGRATS SEAN!
Bob Clark also produced a clutch March 05.

Here's a couple shots from that clutch.

I don't think I saw the really little ones on his website though. Is he saving them all for himself?

Hi Steve,

That's excellent to hear!...It would be great to get some unrelated bloodlines. And by the way, congrats on the Dwarf SuperTiger clutch...I definitely need at least one of those for future projects!

Our male Dwarf Albino originated from Bob, so hopefully we can trace the lines back and establish some new breeding groups.

THANKS SEAN!
Those dwarf albinos are just unbelievable.
I can't imagine what the super dwarf albinos will look like.
Some dwarf/super dwarf albino super tigers would be a
VERY GOOD THING!

Steve
