Two Birthday Girls...

Exotics by Nature Jun 04, 2005 05:58 PM

Hello everyone,

While feeding Ball Pythons today and marking down a surprising number of eaten rats, I noticed a couple of birthdays worth noting...

These two girls, a Hypomelanistic and Genetic Stripe just made one year old today!! I just wanted to post to show how great some of our girls can grow. It is these snakes that make the frustrations of small, picky eaters somewhat bearable. The Hypo female was 1186 grams and the Genetic Stripe was 1256 grams before today's feeding. They are both back on food from a 3 month fast and are doing GREAT!

We are hoping that these girls will be large and mature enough to mother some nice babies for us next year.

Best of luck to all and I hope everyone's snakes feed as well as ours did today! The feeding season has certainly begun!

Good Luck!

INCREDIBLE!!!!! Those are just awesome. I don't have ANY yearlings even CLOSE to that size. However, I do have a Genetic Stripe female that is gravid with 5 eggs in her and she bred at 18 months, so that may give you some hope with that Stripe girl. It is one of VERY VERY FEW that I have been able to get to go that early (18 months of age). I hope that doesn't have bearing on the LONG term health of the animal. I can't think it is a GOOD thing, but she had the eggs, and I bred her so I can't do anything about it now. That is EXTREEMLY rare for me to have female balls breed at 18 months of age. (Only 3). You have been doing a GREAT job on those babies. With Boas, I know for a FACT that the Long term affects are devistating breeding YOUNG 18 month females. I hope that isnt the case with the BALLS!!!!

Major congrats. That stripe is a BEAUTY. One of my favorite Morphs FOR SURE!!!!

They look great! I can't beleive how big they are for being off food for three months. I think that the Genetic Stripe line just grow like weeds. Talk to you later, Brian(BHB)

Hey Sean,
Looking good, hopefully they'll make some great looking babies in the near future. Your Hypos do look great, so, start making some more babies. I need one of those Hypo females.
Congrats,
