The first websites i looked at were:http://www.dachiu.com/care/abeard.html and http://www.bright.net/~a1rep/a1bdcare.html

They are the friendlist and most docile desert lizards i have every seen. But they aren't too lazy, like gekcos, and actually like interacting with humans.

I have a 3month Female right now that i got from Harold Murray of Drafon-Planet.com. He offers plenty of advice, and even a forum. I highly recommend him for his great prices and communication.

A 75 gallon (long, high?) should house at least one or two beardies for life. The best combo is female-female. Male/Female pairs will mate and male/male will fight. I'm actually thinking getting another female.

Hope that helps!

Beardies are not social animals, i would stick with just the one, especially in a 75gallon. If you had something like a 125gallon then you might try two females. But space aside its still not a good idea to house them together...here are a few reasons:

1. dominance. Even with two females one will usually be more dominant than the other. Dominance is not always showed through aggression that you can see so its tricky. One beardie will usually fail to thrive, not get the best basking spots or food and usually fall ill.

2. You cant sex beardies when they are little, unless you get two adults you wont know the sexes probably. If they turn out to be two males they will kill each other and if its a male and a femal;e they may breed when they are too young and that can cause many health issues for the female.

3. If one gets ill the other will also. If one animal vomits or has suspicious looking poo its hard to tell which one it was unless you saw them in action. YOu will end up having to seperate them anyways and pay the vet to treat both of them.

4. If these are your first beardies i would definately start with one just because its easier. while it is possible to house multiple berdies together its best left up to people with more experience.

just my .02 cents....
